- 2009
- In year 2009, the Company ventured into import of Coking Coal from Indonesia, Australia and U.S.A.. The step forward into trading of coal was taken to create a network of buyers and suppliers in domestic and international market. The promoters with strong business connections in Steel and Power sector in India, are looking at the diversification as one more opportunity for growth.
- 2007-08
- In 2007-08, the Company invested USD.20- millions in Wind Mill Turbines of Suzlon in Maharashtra and Gujarat., as a step forward for financial management and a foray into Renewable Energy.
- 2005-06
- In 2005-06 ,the company had also invested close to USD.5 millions for purchasing 2 rakes [each Rake has 29 wagons] under the Wagon Investment Scheme [WIS]. The investment in WIS guarantees availability of 20 rakes a month from the Railways and 10% discount on the railway freight. The promoter's vision for investment in own Railway Siding and Railway Wagons provided strong logistic support for movement of material for exports, resulting into considerable saving in the financial cost and time.
- 2001
- In 2001, Taurian ventured into the field of mining export of Iron Ore Fines. Today, Taurian Iron & Steel Co. Pvt. Ltd, the flagship company, is one of the leading iron ore exporters from North East India.
The Company has state of art Crushing Plant at Barajamda (about 12km from the mines) with total crushing capacity of 600 TPH The company has invested in a Private Railway Siding in Belkundi, in the state of Orissa. The railway siding is utilized for its own iron ore transportation as well as leases out the infrastructure to third parties .
The Company is building the second Railway siding at Durgachowk, Haldia. (West Bengal)
